Workshops are held monthly on the fourth Friday, January through October, in the Cornelia VFW. Check the monthly newsletter calendar for dates. Doors open at 9:30, instruction starts at 10:00 unless otherwise noted. Take your lunch and any needed supplies. Details are available here at least a week before the workshop.

A paid guest or member guides the group through a specific project or a UFO session when everyone works on a group project her own unfinished projects. Members share their expertise and assist others as needed. Quilters of all experience levels are welcome at meetings and workshops!

April 2025

Ruler Bag

April 25,2025 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Our April 2025 workshop will be led by Libby Armstrong, our current guild President, showing us how to make a Ruler Bag. We all need one of these to carry our rulers of all shapes and sizes to sewing workshops and classes. Libby has previously led this same workshop and there have been several requests from new and long-term members for an encore. This project is easy enough to be great for beginning quilters and will be great fun for our experienced members as we enjoy the camaraderie and banter that usually ensues. Workshop participants will need 2 yards of pre-quilted double-sided fabric and ½ yard of coordinating fabric for the binding. Libby recommends size 16/100 denim or sharp sewing machine needles. We will have a completed bag and a signup sheet at our March meeting. There is no charge to members for this workshop, the fee for non-members is $15.00.
