Our August meeting will have some very special speakers... YOU. That's right! We are asking all of our members to bring in something you are working on to share with the group. Although I will not be attending, I would have brought some kimonos. In August my granddaughter is getting married and I have de-constructed the lace medallions from my daughter-in-law's wedding dress and sewn them into the white kimonos for the bride, her mother, grandmother, and sister... between packing boxes!

Jeanie Whitworth will be presenting a trunk show of her most recent work at our September meeting. Jeanie is a Hall County resident who has been quilting for about twenty years. Jeanie loves any project involving a hand or machine needle, which includes knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, and of course, quilting. She is extremely fortunate to be surrounded by more than one hundred fiber artists in Dawsonville's Heart In Hand Guild, Dahlonega's Golden Stitches Guild, and Habersham's Mountain Laurel Guild, and a Quilting Bee that meets in JacksonEMC building on Dawsonville Highway. The insurmountable knowledge Jeanie has gained from these artists will always be treasured.
